The connections and bulb holders for Type 2 08/71-07/79 taillights are covered at the inside in the engine compartment by a PVC cover. In this way the inside of the taillight units are protected against dust and dirt. These covers can get damaged by fluctuations in temperature and manipulation and it wont be possible to assemble them again in a correct way.
