Bay window buses, T2 for many, have the window washer bottle behind the front panel  with its filler neck sticking out of the kick panels.
On this filler neck belongs this cap or cover.

All bay windows came with this cap from the factory, also standard combis and all utilities.

The needle valve is an important part of your carburetor cutting off fuel supply when there’s enough.
Malfunction can give serious trouble with carbs running over and spilled gas can catch fire, burning down your complete vehicle!

We decided to offer the needle valve also separately, apart from our carburetor rebuild kits and choose the best quality market has to offer.

Another project came to a happy end this week when our brand new made 52-54 dome light switches arrived.
After we went through all the inventory from an old supplier, with steep rise in price, untill they came completely obsolete in 2018.
We decided the market deserved better and tooled up again.

We made them with the teardrop hole for the bottom.
For the back we choose very carefully the correct screws for flat screwdriver.
Even when you don’t see those, we thought they deserved to be period correct.

Used in beetle as dome light (interior light) switch in the A -pillar from 10/52 up to 07/54.
On beetle convertibles up to 07/64 VIN 6502 399 also situated behind the right side rear quarter window, between headliner and hood.
Here to switch out the dome light (interior light) when hood frame is down to prevent the dome light (interior light) start melting or burning your headliner!

Gas or no gas?

Russian pipe lines opened yesterday again for gas deliveries to Europe, 40% of initial gas supply flows back to the “west”.
This war is a war of compromises.
Easy said its a clash between East and West, and nobody knows where it will stop.

Let’s hope common sense will come soon to the tribe leaders and make our world a world of peace, love and understanding.

We bring you a Brazilian alternative for our German made brake fluid reservoir BBT # 1257-21.
Both models will fit all split window bus up to 07/66 and Kombi Brazil up to 1975.

The Brazilian version we present here is optical more correct and way better priced, its German counterpart has a MIN-MAX indication and a nicer finish.
We couldn’t make up our mind wich one to follow, we leave that choice up to you by offering both models.

Tailgates used in 63-79 buses fight many times with a rust problem under the window rubber.
Starving window rubber makes water gets stuck between the rubber and the tailgate where it starts to corrode.
That will end up “eating” a lot of the metal below the rubber.

Prices of new tailgates are impressive and used tailgates become harder to get.
BBT brings you a more economical solution.
This handy repair panel will repair these nasty areas below that rear window seal.

This is a one piece repair panel and runs about 5 cm down.

Whether you’ve just bought a new project or you’re working your way around a restoration you’ll get to the phase where exterior items such as the below handle will get a closer inspection..
Often the chrome has had it’s best time and lots of rust spots have taken a more prominent place or the handle is in a bad shape all together.
Here at BBT we’ve got a great selection of beautifully reproduced handles with good quality chrome.
A such the cargo door handle we show here is no different to that. This handle in particular is for non commercial buses as it has the longer spindle to hold the inner door handle.

Next up is the bottom plate of the cab door step, this is often he first part that starts rusting so instead of replacing the whole cab step, you are able to repair it with this part. Of course also available for the LHS with BBT ref 0892-080.

For our last shout we have a pair of 4×130 wheel spacers, they are 25mm wide and have conical seats and come with longer chromed wheelbolts.
The set is ready to use so you can fit those aftermarket wheels and adjust the stance of your car.

When are we going back to normal?
Since the pandemic and lockdown a regularly heard question.

Well maybe there is no way back to “normal”.
Corona and the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine changed the world with no return.

What is (or should be) “normal” anyway? We’re living today the new “normal”.
Economic situation, inflation and a poor performing Euro currency will make the life of the average European citizen a lot more expensive.

Also BBT has to raise several prices unfortunately.
But we check every product individually, try to keep price changes under control where possible.

Besides our 9mm wide Hose Connector kit BBT # 1466 we offer now the same kit with the smaller 5mm wide band.

The 9mm kits are used for axle boots and other larger diameter applications that need more strength. We see the 5mm hose connector kit used to secure smaller diameter applications such as the heater hoses between engine and chassis on early beetles. Also to secure your velocity stacks on your vintage speed engine exactly as Porsche used those on their Carrera 4 Cam engines. Just to name a few.

Off course you can use where you want for that perfect vintage look. So much nicer as regular modern hose clamps, the BBT Hose Connector kits will fit simply any diameter. You simply cut the hose connector band on your desired length.
