Sometimes when you think you have all important parts covered we come to logical parts that are simply missing in our program, here’s a prime example.
These bumper over-rider brackets been used on the small style “export” bumpers.
For USA safety rules VW had to come up with a certain height of the bumper and so over-riders were born.
Mandatory in the USA, cool looks made it a popular option worldwide.
Over-riders brought extra tension to the bumper so had to have their own proper bracket.
We do stock these extra bumper brackets now for front and rear.

Now prices and availability of new engine cases gets to never seen levels rebuilding gains popularity.
In order to rescue more worn out cases we decided to stock oversize lifters.
Too much play in your lifter channel drops your oil pressure.
With our oversize lifters you can bring the lateral play of your lifters back to factory tolerances.
Sold each, but we do strongly recommend always to use same size lifters in your engine

This OEL cap is frequently nicknamed 730 depending how you read it.

Engine mounts, we’ve talked about it a lot lately and we’re not finished yet..
We’re sure by now you’re aware of the importance of good quality engine mounts and this is no difference – specifically designed for the type 25 Diesel version.
Make sure to inspect these from time to time as when they’re knackered they can cause a rather noisy and annoying (rattling) sound..
Always inspect your engine mounts prior to fitting them, they should have no rubber on the contacts where it gets secured/tightened.
Any rubber in these contact points can cause it to loosen with all sorts of problems as a result.

Thing, Kubel, Trekker and many other for as many countries nicknamed the Volkswagen Type 181.
Initially made as a light army vehicle in Germany turned into a production of a 100% leisure vehicle in Mexico.
Distributed all over the world, one country more than another, we find Things in the most unexpected places, the demand for parts along.
Of course many mechanical parts are shared with other Volkswagen derivates but body wise most parts are unique.
We started up production of several 181 parts and like to present some fresh harvest.
Front windshield for a 181 or THING is the same than a Volkswagen ILTIS and we make a longer time already HERE
After too much demand for an affordable front window seal along we searched for solutions.
After a long time of searching we finally could tool up from an absolute NOS sample and make these rubbers available now.
Same time we made the rubbers between the front window frame and the body used also between the front window frame and the roof.
We deliver these rubbers in a correct length of 1450mm.
More rubber parts for your beloved Type 181 are expected to dock soon, stay tuned.

Bend, misformed, dirty or simply missing, many bay windows need new bows when installing a headliner.

We add this week also this 12Volts 40A relay.
This relay was originally introduced as the relay for the dual horns for Karmann Ghia models in 1966.
From there it was used for optional front fog lights on almost all Volkswagen models in the early seventies.
Also T25/T3/Vanagon use this relay for numerous accessories.
Besides the original applications it’s a very universal relay that can be used for numerous applications.
Accessory driving or fog lights, horns, pumps or ventilators will happily switch with this relay.

Bay window and T25/T3/Vanagon bus brake calipers are held with two bolts to your spindles.
What looks like “just two bolts” are very specific designed solutions for this application.
Upper and lower bolts are different to start with.
As we couldn’t find what we needed, we tracked down the original manufacturer and struck a deal for a brand new production.
Huge quantities but finally back available at a decent price.
Made to factory specs, Metric class 10.9 what corresponds with Imperial Grade 8 for necessary strength required.

Since August of 1950 the Volkswagen factory offered a ragtop as an option on any new beetle sold.
For deluxe models Ragtops have been available till July 1963. VW changed over to a steel sliding roof from August 1963 on.
Standard models had ragtops as an option till 1967. In a standard you could never get a steel sliding roof.
Ragtops had specific rails made out of highly polished extruded aluminum to let glide your rollers to open your canvas.

Early taillights suffer many times malfunctioning because worn out, corroded over used bulb holders.
After years of special ordering we finally decided we would follow these bulb holders in order to develop the rest of the taillights.
Knowing BBT we upgraded all early bulb holders in order to hold dual filament bulbs.

VW engines up to 1960 (and standard models up to 1965) had a very specific oil pressure sender.
It is kind a big for what it is and dominates part of your correct engine compartment looks.
Nothing correct available for years we supplied just a regular oil pressure switch with a screw terminal.
This has now changed as one of Bob’s lockdown projects gave birth to this 100% correct early oil pressure switch.
Finally a perfect solution to replace that wrongly looking late model oil pressure switch peaking in your eyes every time you open your engine lid, these days are over!
