We had a real cool 1968 Karmann Ghia coupe in this week, ever fancied a Ghia coupe? This might be your perfect choice, runs, drives, solid, dry, clean in and out and some cool nice features…
Sports a healthy bill of a serious service for 3000 euro from less than a year ago, so this baby is all ready to go and enjoy!
Striking lines, striking color!
Nice, from every angle!
Clean…inside, out…..
Unmolested cool dash, the white steering wheel add to the real vintage look of the car!
Upholstery in better than nice condition
Hmmm yammie! we love nice original headliners!
This is what we all looking for in any Ghia, a real straight un-dented, un-repaired nose, only visible from the inside, this baby had nothing!
This baby drives so nice, close to “as new” condition….

sometimes we get asked like how we get cars in and out containers, last week our good friend of “Da House” Dave Warren, a real professional photographer was here and made a beautiful feature of unloading a car from a container…. a rock solid 1974 super beetle (that’s 1303 for Europe) blessed with a small engine fire, (everything looks worse like it really is) and I don’t think, this baby needs that much to come back on the road… but first the unloading part!
Let the story start!
Another day in the BBT warehouse….
another container rolls in, straight from Dallas Texas
on board our feature car, nicely loaded by yours truly on his last US trip, see previous Blog Posts in the travel section…
we build a custom ramp, after all the years we became pretty handsome with the nail gun….:)
car had an engine fire, nothing bad, except it makes up for a cheap cheap cheap project!
we start to free the wheels, they’ve been blocked with side wood and wood before and after the wheel, and strapped down with ropes…
get everything out underneath….
then we lift the whole ramp just enough to knock the pillars from underneath, so we can sink and incline the ramp so the car can be slowly taken out without touching the doors…
precision forklift work for the helpers, also how to lift a convertible on its rear suspension and chassis strengtheners require some experience…
… and out it is!
and this is how the ramp looks empty…:)
and what is the feature car???
a 1974 Super beetle 1303 project, kind a cool and especially solid survivor, except for the floorplates…
dull paint, car stands for over 10 years
inside as good as everywhere!
strengtheners, we saw way worse!
so dry inner fenders, isn’t this illegal? or only close? anyway we can handle!
very cool project, and yes it is for sale, don’t let it slip away!
