Silver Weld Through (SWT) The Silver Weld through coating is used to protect the bare metal from corrosion during transport, storage & the repair/restoration process.The SWT primer contains zinc which is more resistant to corrosion than other types of primers such as those made with copper. There’s sometimes the confusion with paint primer which is different as this is used to cover bare metal and slight surface flaws in order to prep the body for paint.It is therefore recommended to remove the silver weld through prior to prime and paint the body or repair section. Please note, the factory is spread across Taiwan with various facilities and not all of them can spray the SWT coat, as such a small volume of the range has a black transport primer under the SWT coating.
